paraphrase, Discourse is the combination of doing and saying things the right way while holding the same values and beliefs in society (Gee 6). I think this works better because i’m using more of my own interpretation of it than Gees.

We tend to talk and behave a certain way based on how we are raised and portrayed.

summary, Based on our backgrounds we act a certain way to fit what we “should be” and he follow interpretations of ourselves even if it isn’t true. this is because were use to following what we believe we should be because of culture. A summary is good for this because it shows a deeper meaning of what is said.

This is the same in a Discourse because if you don’t master the second Discourse you may go back to the first and adjust it in ways to fix it into the needed functions.

paraphrase, if you don’t master the second discourse you may retreat to the first and fix what needs to be fixed. I think this works because its a simpler meaning. it doesn’t try to complicate the meaning of it.
