1. One main thing that sponsors can do is teach. On my last literacy narrative, I met many times with Jack Moore. He first hand taught me how to introduce ideas, connect my experiences and bring it all together into one story. He used his knowledge and experience to aid me and my writing. Jack gains advantage by being paid a decent amount of money from the university. Another thing that sponsors definitely do is support. My mother is on my back 24/7, making sure I complete every assignment. She’s steadily by my side making sure I do the absolute best I could do. She gains the idea of seeing her son be successful in whatever challenges he faces in life.
  2. I think many of us face problems with literacy because the way we portray it. We live in a society where all these children are solely focused on having fun and whenever something gets in the way of that fun, we look down on it. Growing up I despised going to school and doing homework which has been a detriment to my success further down the line.
  3. The Hero little narratives subset interests me because I enjoy seeing other peoples success come from their acquisition of literacy. Its definition is “Equates  Literacy with success, liberation, and development.” Alexander says that “the narrative perpetuates the notion that literacy brings success, it contextualizes these claims within a individual account.”                                                                       Another on that interests me is the Victim as being able to share your negative experience with literacy is sort of a relaxing way to get stuff off our mind. Alexanders says this “Discusses how someone took the fun out of writing and reading.” She also states that students base most of their school reading and writing experiences as negative, and that this subset is popular amongst students.
